Step Aerobics

Step aerobics is a cardio workout that dates back decades and is still going strong today. Why? It delivers results. Its main component, the aerobic step, is an inexpensive accessory that can be used in tight spaces and allows you to do a full cardio workout from the comfort of your living room.

The Basics

The simplest exercise is to step up and down from the platform. This stimulates your heart rate, breathing, legs and stabilizing muscles. This movement simulates climbing stairs and on its own can provide a complete cardio workout. The stepper can be adjusted in height to accommodate your height or change the intensity of your workout.


As you become familiar with the basics, new exercises can be incorporated into your workouts. There are many routines that can help you target different parts of your body, such as your legs, core, arms, back muscles and more.
